27 Mar One-Year Transformation with Zena Betti
Zena Betti has been part of our Fuse45 (Cycle & Row) community since its inception. In celebration of our first year in business, we are proud to share her success story. Zena’s energy, perseverance, and determination is contagious in the studio and we have enjoyed watching her progress through her journey to health and fitness.
“I have been battling a vicious cycle of struggle with my weight for years. Then about a year ago, I found Cycle & Row – the creators of the Fuse45 workout. A few years ago, I gained a lot of weight and every time I tried to get into a workout regimen, I would somehow injure myself. The injuries would always set me backward. So I would have to take time off from working out and I would gain more weight and feel more depressed. This was the vicious cycle. I was hopeless.
A year ago, I walked into the doors of Cycle & Row not knowing anyone and I am so glad I did. I was at my heaviest physically and lowest emotionally. I had just lost my grandmother – she was like a second mother and it was my first time dealing with grief.
I knew I had to try again to lose excess weight once and for all, and try to get my old self back. So I started praying about it and asking God to help me. He heard my prayers from the first class and, still now, I pray that I don’t injure myself, thanking him for giving me the strength to continue.
It was challenging, especially in the beginning of my journey; the first few months I couldn’t do many of the floor exercises (being overweight with a back/ knee injury) but the instructors were kind enough to change and adjust the moves for me without any hesitation. They knew how to make me comfortable and make me feel like I was still part of the class. Although many types of injuries can affect the back and neck, the most commonly treated back and neck injuries are spondylolysis and cervical radiculopathy. I was determined, focused and persistent. The instructors helped me and pushed me in every single class. I was on a mission – the first six months I went to class 3 days a week and as I grew on my fitness journey, Cycle & Row grew too. In September, they added more morning classes, and I bumped my routine up to 6 days a week.
I’m so happy that I finally found a place that worked for me. It was love at first sight. I became a member after trying my very first class and I’ve never looked back.
Fuse45 is my favorite class – it’s like having a personal trainer in a group setting. It’s low impact (which is how I was able to continue improving, even while being overweight), yet it’s high intensity – not to mention the personal attention and great energy you get from every class. It is so addicting.
Fuse45 has helped me lose 30 pounds and tons of inches naturally, and in return I have gained a big and awesome community I now call my “fit family”. I will be forever grateful for them.
As I enter my second year/phase into my weight loss journey, I can’t wait to reach my ultimate goal which is “my bikini body”…stay tuned. 😉

Favorite Cycle & Row memory: My favorite memory is my first day walking into Cycle & Row and meeting Karen and Sam. I did my first Fuse45 class that day, and it reminds where I was when I first started.
